Your wedding will likely be one the most memorable days of your life. The dress, flowers, venue, family, friends… the list goes on and on. When you look back on this day you will remember how everything came together, but what most of us try to forget is the stressful the planning was that led up to that special day.
If you have just started planning a wedding, you might be saying to yourself “Where do I begin?” Without a professional wedding planner, the planning your wedding seems like a task impossible to achieve. Well keep calm, because our experts have broken your “Big Day” planning out into 4 main categories. Seeing this categorized will make it much easier to start checking the boxes on your to-do list.
- Venue – Starting with the venue selection is always best since this requires the longest book ahead time. Depending on the venue, you might need to book as early as 2-3 years out. After the venue selection, think about how you picture your ceremony at that venue. This will help with your follow-up selection of the entertainment, guest list, wedding bands, décor, and more.
- Bridal Party – Picking your bridal party is of course more than the maid of honor and bridesmaids. You must also include mother of the bride, ring bearer and flower girl (if you choose), and of course THE GROOM! We joke, but do remember to think about the groom’s checklist as well.
- Bridal Fashion – This is the fun part. After the selection of the venue and bridal party, it’s time to get the DRESS! Based on the selection of the dress, you can then get the accessories like shoes and jewelry. This is the perfect time to think about who you would like to do your hair and makeup, and possibly how you envision your hair and makeup to look. (And of course, Amenity Day Spa can help!)
- Reception & More – This is probably the biggest list of all. This is where you start to plan the entertainment, food, drink, flowers, invitations, speeches, first dance, cake, favors, transport, photography, videography, honeymoon, and more, depending on your vision.
While it seems like a lot, breaking your to-do list down into categories can help with all of the clutter in the mind. You will see that checking off one category at a time will help what feels like a never-ending list, seem achievable!
Enjoy your big day!
